Just like last year Fifa 13 has had a lot of new additional features, but overall the game still has it's flaws.
Career Mode This years manager mode has had a lot of additional features which do make the mode more enjoyable to play, transfers are now more realistic, and the international games throughout the season give it a more life-like feel, and with results & fixtures now read out by a commentator while you are in the Menu's it really shows how much EA has put into the mode, the only problem would be that once again in certain games the AI can start playing unrealistically well, which can ruin the game you are in, also there seems to be an Increase in the number of cutback goals that the computer score using
Pro Clubs Over the past couple of years pro-clubs has been ruined by Overrated players, boosters, and pro keepers. So it's refreshing to know something has finally been done about this. Now it is only possible to improve your pro by playing online games only, this re-introduces the challenge of improving your pro, plus now you can turn off Pro-Keepers with the flick of a button and with new promotion + relegation battle the game is also more enticing to play.
Overall Gameplay Overall I feel that Fifa's general gameplay has improved, the AI are now much more responsive in situations and don't cling onto the ball as much, the defending is slightly better and the amount of tedious free-kicks given away has drastically reduced, there are still problems however, The passing is still easily prone to flying off in the wrong direction, and the EA servers seem to be down more than they are up! Also the new first touch engine means that playing with lesser rated players usually ends up with you losing the ball.
In my personal opinion Fifa 13 is a much better game than Fifa 12 but still has sloppy errors.

I am and probably always will be a massive Pro Evo fan at heart but after 3/4 years of neatly disc shaped s**t coming from Konami I decided to buy Fifa 13 for a change. Let me start by saying I love the fact I don't have to spend the 1st 2 days editing team names, kits etc, which is pretty damn nice. But after a few plays getting used to 'tactical defending' it becomes apparent that against the CPU this game is pretty dull. They'll be no 5-4 games on any diffuclty, as I found Semi-pro to be waaay to easy and Professional meant scrapping a 1-0 or drawing 0-0 with me having about 15 shots on target. So online I go, first to this highly rated Ultimate Team, I should mention I'm in no way sad enough to spend any more money on DLCs, Fifa points or whatever else they try and sell. So it's just me and my good old coins. All goes well to start, I create a team of bronze Brazilian/Portuguese/Anglo/Italians and we have 2 or 3 very competitive games with similar teams, with similar ratings. And because it's online tactical defending has gone out the window a bit, which I'm gonna argue with, as surely the point of becoming good at this game is to master the controls, not run around sliding everywhere like Emile Heskey. And as a new Fifa player I find this completely stupid and unfair. I've just been through tutorials and mini training sessions on how to tackle properly, now I've got a 13 year old outplaying me by holding down right trigger like a racing sym and running into my players, and sliding into them, (when he could get away with it) it all seems utterly pointless. Anyway now 3 games in and with 2 wins and 1 draw and I'm thinking why did I buy PES 2012 last year, this Ultimate Team malarkey is great. And then it happens, a 5 star team with 100% chemistry appears. And against my 2 star 53 chemistry Brazilian/Portuguese/Anglo/Italian mix. After spending all of 30 seconds speaking to the guy I knew this was gonna be a pointless exercise, when someone tells you they booked a week off work to play Fifa 13 on release you know your gonna loose, and I did, 8-1. Hey ho I though, 'it's just one game' I told myself. How wrong I was, I've now played 17 games on Ultimate team, won 2, drawn 1, lost 14. I've yet to play anyone who isn't 5 star 100 chemistry since the 3rd game which to be fair makes FUT completely boring and useless to me. After this disappointment I decided to have a pop at the season's mode, which after about 30 mins of trying wouldn't connect to anyone, anywhere, at all. So I text my mate Joe and asked if he's up for a game, into online friendlies we go, again it can't connect, and after about 10 attempts we call it a bad job and play COD instead(which worked).
So taking into account Ultimate Team is incredibly unfair to casual players (like me) and it seems like you'd have to play Fifa every minute you were awake to get good at it. Season's mode can't connect, online friendlies can't connect and a career mode that I've been assured gets stuck on May 31st, it's not shaping up too well. I'll keep playing it though because I just will, I can't not have a football game and when all is said and done playing aginst the CPU on the right difficulty isn't too bad at all, just with some general faults and annoyances. Like when defenders sort of stand and watch players make runs past them, it is pretty frustrating, alos the first touch system is a bit of a let down, now with say me in the game it would make sense, but these are all pro footballers were supposedly controlling, and the first touches of my bronze players were agricultural at best. But in my opinion the speed of play and the general gameplay make up for these faults. Everything just feels realistic, you hold down Y for too long, bad luck you ball goes out of play, you try to hit a shot on you weaker foot, it could (and does) go anywhere, whoever you are. Players who are slow can't keep up with fast players, players who can't defend mistime tackles and give away free kicks. It all seems so simple but it makes the game much more interesting. You have to really think about what your doing, who's on the ball and what could happen next. And I really enjoy it. As I said earlier just a shame some things let it down, otherwise it would be the complete package.

I played the previous game in online season mode exclusively. This doesn't work with this version - it takes an age to find an opponent and even then the game hangs and crashes. Because of this and the frustration caused I began playing the Career mode. Yesterday my game reached its own 'point of no progress'. It crashes the whole Xbox and I can't play it. After several attempts to restart the machine and continue the career mode (all with the same result) I returned to season mode, thinking, 'Ok, they must have fixed this now, a few weeks on'. But actually sat there for an entire hour trying to get an online game working - and failing.
This game is now literally unplayable due to the gross errors EA left in it, a couple of weeks after me buying it.

I bought this monitor, specifically for photo editing in Adobe Lightroom. For picture editing the screen colours have to be perfect, or the output, especially if printed by a third party can be very hit and miss. Only IPS monitors can really live up to this and even then, they can be very variable as to quality and of course need regular calibration. The Asus comes from the factory with a very good initial calibration, which I have not yet had to alter.
At the very high end of the monitor market are the Eizo and NEC monitors which usually run into the four figure price bracket. Among users though the Asus PA246q had a very good reputation, especially at about a third the cost, this new updated version the, PA248q, takes that monitor and improves on it. Sitting next to an Eizo, I really can't perceive any real-world difference in the image displayed once the brightness level had been set to the 120cms level.
At this price level, the Asus really has only one serious competitor the Dell U2410, but in all of the reviews the Asus just betters the Dell in each small way. I would certainly recommend this monitor for photo work. At this price it really is superb value for money.

We bought this PC for my Sister who wanted a PC that would allow her to run MS Office, surf the web, email and edit the odd photograph, plus, store her collection of photographs. Space was at a premium, so this HP "all-in-one" PC was physically just right - its footprint isn't really any bigger than a 20" monitor.
The out of the box experience was excellent, and, we had the Omni 120 up and running in no time at at all. The LED illuminated screen gives great image quality, although, it is not a touchscreen (which we did not want). This PC is very stylish and is finished in glossy black with an aluminium effect stand.
The 1TB hard drive offers lots of capacity, but, be careful which version of this PC you buy or compare as there are other versions that share a similar product number but they are fitted with a 500GB drive - half the size of this one.
The only small, criticism of the design is, that when sat in front of the PC, you cannot see the hard drive activity light and ditto for the DVD burner as they are on the left/right hand edges of the machine. I am pointing this out in the interests of objectivity, but, it is of limited consequence.
The supplied keyboard and mouse are both wireless and have a quality feel. With this format of PC there is only one mains cable, and, the adjustable stand at the rear of the PC also provides cable management for any USB cables. There are 4 USB ports on the rear with 2 on the (LH)side. There is also a built memory card reader, and wireless card - in many desktop computers the wireless card/dongle is an extra. In addition, there is a built in webcam and microphone. The DVD drive is on the right hand side of the PC, and, when considering placement of the machine you have to allow a few inches gap for when it opens. There's a headphone and microphone socket as well as built in speakers that give reasonable quality sound which I'd say are on a par with an LCD TV of the same size - of course, you can mute these and attach more powerful external ones if you wish.
I was sceptical of how an Intel Pentium (as opposed to an ICore processor) would perform, but, this PC seems swift enough when surfing, word processing and photo editing. The HP Omni 1120 comes with plenty of installed software, although, the version of MS Office supplied is only a starter version with ads. In effect, most users will need to budget for a full version of Office (or, use one of the free alternatives) plus an internet security solution once the trial version expires.
This HP PC looks very smart, has a small footprint, and, performs very well making it a good choice for someone with a similar user profile to that above. Recommended.
(This PC was paired with an HP 6510 multi-function printer which I have also reviewed on the appropriate Amazon page).
